Hessen Agentur’s “Advisory centre for the promotion of economic development” offers advice on programs of financial aid, thus serving as a guide in relation to all economic development questions. It is an expert on the available funding programs offered by the state and the federal government. It gives counselling on the financing possibilities that are suitable in each case and helps develop new financing strategies and the subsequent integration of subsidies, loans, guarantees and participation possibilities.
In addition, the centre provides advice about the possibilities of support that are of a non-monetary nature. It gives advice about its own services and those offered by others. For this purpose, the advisory centre maintains a network to the ‘InvestitionsBank Hessen’ (IBH), the ‘Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau’ (KfW), the ‘Mittelstandsbank’ (bank that lends to small- and medium-sized firms), the economic development agencies at state, regional and municipal levels, the RKW, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, chambers of industry, commerce and handcrafts, to business angel networks, transfer agencies and associations to assist business start-ups.
Target groups are primarily firms and start-up entrepreneurs, as well as municipalities and financial institutions. As an independent information source offering services free of charge, the advisory center maintains offices in Wiesbaden and Wetzlar.
